Taverna’s cauliflower burgers

A burger can also be meatless! Fried cauliflower in the company of grilling cheese comprises the delicious filling in this vegetarian burger. Along with the spicy cauliflower pieces, the grilling cheese adds lots of taste and texture.


Fry the slices of grilling cheese in a pan and set to one side.

Remove the leaves from the cauliflower head and cut it into slices approx. 1 cm thick.

You will need 4 slices of roughly the same size as the buns.

Mix together the spices with 4 tbsp olive oil and spread the mixture out onto the cauliflower slices.

Pour the rest of the oil into the pan.

Fry the cauliflower slices in the pan for 2 minutes on either side or until they are crisp and golden.

Spread mayonnaise onto the bun and place the lettuce, sliced cauliflower, grilling cheese, apple and red cabbage in layers in the bun.

Serve immediately.
